my flag is on fire
Produced and mixed by J. Lee Vineyard and My Flag Mastered by Kramer Artwork: Ahren Hertel
Recorded and produced over '06 & most of '07 with J. Lee Vineyard and mastered by Kramer. Fronted by solo artist T. Williams, this is the first trial and debut recordings of My Flag is on Fire.
Sung in post-punk angst with pop-infused choruses and folk and experimental rock influences, each track reinvents itself in a different direction, channeling DC punk with layers of overdriven guitars in "Cheap Cigs," paying homage to glam and power pop in "Cure Girl"--a love song to a sad girl--and presenting the dark and theatric in "Emansio" and "Harmony." Guests include Paul Williams (piano), Xtevion (Schizopolitans, vocals, drums), Karen Torres, Shelly Goodin, Shane Forster (The Juvinals, sax), Charles Taggart (cello), and Mikaal Zaidi (violin).
Presently, MFIOF is a rotating cast of accordion, cello, guitar, upright bass, keys, drums and vocals—depending on whatever whim has taken them, you'll see all 6 members or 3 or 4 or 5 of them, conjuring intense folk magic acoustically or electrically—either way, melting your heart with beautiful melodies, soulful vocals, powerful lyrics, and stunning instrumentation.
We're very grateful of Second Shimmy helping these songs be heard.
